The Limbury Press is pleased to announce the forthcoming publication - in summer 2013 - of a new book by Tyneside-based paranormal researchers Darren W. Ritson and Michael J. Hallowell. Contagion, sub-titled In the Shadow of the South Shields Poltergeist, is the sequel volume to the 2009 book of the same name that chronicles one of the most frightening and controversial poltergeist hauntings of modern times.
For several months during the summer and autumn of 2006, a young South Shields family were plagued with a barrage of strange, inexplicable and terrifying paranormal phenomena including sinister apparitions, the violent movement of objects and physical attacks by unseen forces. At the same time, local researchers Hallowell and Ritson were able to spend many hours investigating the bizarre haunting as it actually took place, enabling them to compile a detailed and compelling body of evidence that has received critical and positive reviews from a number of leading authorities such as writer Guy Lyon Playfair, one of the lead investigators in the 1977 Enfield Poltergeist case, and barrister Alan Murdie, a former President of the Ghost Club.
In their new book Contagion, the authors present a wealth of previously unseen evidence pertaining to this fascinating case, and publish the results of a far-reaching enquiry into the worldwide poltergeist enigma in what highly-respected writer and philosopher Colin Wilson, in a foreword to the book, has described as 'a startling new idea to poltergeist lore'. Contagion promises to be one of the most controversial paranormal publications of 2013.
Further details will appear on the Limbury Press website in due course.
